- Prepare for and teach assigned classes; provide formal instruction.
- Facilitate student learning, provided effective instruction and evaluate student progress.
- Develop, revise and deliver course curriculum and syllabus.
- Remain current in academic or program discipline, including maintain licensure, certification or continuing education requirements.
- Utilize the Library, the LIRN library system, and the Learning Resource Center.
- Receive profession development training and stay current in technology to promote student learning.
- Keep records of grades and attendance and submit them to designated offices.
- Utilize curriculum as directed, while providing feedback and suggestions for improvement.
- Providing all necessary documentation for grades, student outcomes and successful program completion.
- Work with other faculty and administrators in developing program curriculum and revisions, standards and policies.
- Provide and maintain course documentation for all students to support student assessment.
- Submit early alert forms, grades and attendance in a timely manner.
- Maintain organization of curricular materials, handouts, classroom equipment, etc.
- Participate in Professional Development activities, conferences, faculty meetings and other additional education.
- Serve on any appointed committees.
- Arrange guest speakers and field trips.
- Present materials in a clear and organized manner.
- Maintain and distribute a course syllabus and course outline that is consistent with the school catalog.
- Attend meetings or activities pertinent to faculty responsibilities and assignments.
- Use media aids, white boards, and other resources as appropriate for teaching.
- Begin and end classes on time. Resume punctually after break time. Provide instruction for the entire class period.
- Keep reading from the book at a minimum and not used as a teaching tool.
- Remain in the classroom during student instructional time.
- Remain in the laboratory at all times when students are present.
- Communicate with students and staff in a professional manner.
- Abide by policies and procedures outlined in employee and faculty handbooks.
- Provide a positive image for the school, serving as a role model to students, while maintaining professional distance and objectivity.
- Notify Lead Instructor/Program Director of concerns, issues, or materials needed to fulfill job duties.
- Provide students with course grades periodically throughout the quarter, grading must be done in a timely fashion.
- Be sensitive to students who have special needs.
- Must be able to demonstrate a command of theory and practice, contemporary knowledge, and continuing study in their field.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Education.
- Certification or licensure and/or additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations required.
- Post-secondary teaching experience preferred.
- Ability to organize, problem solve, handle multiple tasks, and function as a team member within established school, state, federal, and accrediting agency regulations, policies and procedures.
