Penn Commercial’s 2019 Annual Weld-Off Competition has begun! This is open to Juniors and Seniors in a welding program at your high school. The competition will consist of a welding test on AWS D1.1 joints on 1/2” plate in the vertical up position using either 3/32 or 1/8 E7018 electrode. Three finalists will be picked from each school and will compete in the Finals on March 29th. Welding is not only a specialized skill, it is a career that serves an array of industries and is used in various different ways.
