Job Description

Licensed Practical Nurse-PT

 

  1. Licensed Practical Nurse – the worker performs practical nursing work in the care and treatment of the L.T.S.R. residents.
  2. Duties will include:
  3. Preparing, recording and administering medications
  4. Taking and recording vital signs
  5. Maintaining resident medical records
  6. Administering prescribed medical treatment
  7. Ordering prescribed laboratory testing
  8. Maintaining inventory of all pharmaceuticals
  9. Observing and reporting resident behavioral changes
  10. Completion of progress notes and administrative reports
  11. Advising Mental Health Technicians of medical side effects and treatment precautions
  12. Completing incident reports as required
  13. Serves as a member of the treatment team
  14. Other duties as required

 

  • Required/Recommended Skills
  1. Licensure in practical nursing
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills
  3. Understanding of the symptoms and behavior of the mental health client
  4. Record keeping
  5. Assertive and capable of independent action when initiative required
  6. Full realization of the ramifications of confidentiality

 

Education and Background Requirements

 

Graduate from a school of practical nursing approved by the State Board of Nurse Examiners. Act 34 Clearance. Three years of experience preferred.

 

$24.15 Hour

32 hours or less a week
