Job Description
Licensed Practical Nurse-PT
- Licensed Practical Nurse – the worker performs practical nursing work in the care and treatment of the L.T.S.R. residents.
- Duties will include:
- Preparing, recording and administering medications
- Taking and recording vital signs
- Maintaining resident medical records
- Administering prescribed medical treatment
- Ordering prescribed laboratory testing
- Maintaining inventory of all pharmaceuticals
- Observing and reporting resident behavioral changes
- Completion of progress notes and administrative reports
- Advising Mental Health Technicians of medical side effects and treatment precautions
- Completing incident reports as required
- Serves as a member of the treatment team
- Other duties as required
- Required/Recommended Skills
- Licensure in practical nursing
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Understanding of the symptoms and behavior of the mental health client
- Record keeping
- Assertive and capable of independent action when initiative required
- Full realization of the ramifications of confidentiality
Education and Background Requirements
Graduate from a school of practical nursing approved by the State Board of Nurse Examiners. Act 34 Clearance. Three years of experience preferred.
$24.15 Hour
32 hours or less a week
